Brought Back Memories!
Saw this movie as a kid and it stuck in my mind. I had forgotten the title, but remember a few plot specifics and finally tracked it down. It was not the best of it's genre, but was very entertaining and I am so glad I was able to get it. The acting is pretty good and the special effect aren't to bad for being made in the early 1960's. It did take me back to when I could go to the show for a quarter and see two movies on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Walk in any time and stay as long as I wanted too. Didn't need to take out a loan to buy popcorn either! Those WERE the days!Saw this movie as a kid and it stuck in my mind. cheap production, but childhood favorite
I can't knock the cheap special effects because we are so jaded these days with computer graphics. You can't expect that when you watch a movie from the 60's. this move holds a special place in my heart because it was always a favorite of mine as a kid growing up. for years i could not find this move because i didn't know the title of it until recently. when i finally discovered it, i bought it immediately and couldn't wait to see it again after 4 decades. So don't go into this expecting top notch effects. it has a wonderful story line and the characters are rich with diversity. Just watch it for that and enjoy it for what it is. I'm glad i was finally able to find this film on DVD. forgotten classic.
i first saw this at a saturday matinee in the early 70's as a kid. been trying to find it ever since. it is still an awesome movie to watch on a saturday afternoon.
