Beautifully done season; meaningful, action, emotion-filled, great!!

As with my review on other seasons of Xena, it is simply an excellent series!! Music is also intense, beautiful often, and emotionally matches the scenes taking place perfectly. Xena is a unique hero; she has gone through many changes in her life. You should watch all six seasons to see what I mean. She is fiery and volatile at times, she is steadfast and loyal to those she loves, courageous, a skilled warrior, yet is capable of tenderness when occasion arises. All six seasons tell a story, especially the relationship between Xena and Gabrielle; friends, partners, soul mates.. If I had to pick one "favorite" season it might be four. The episodes where Xena and Gabrielle travel to India are beautifully done, and reveal the nature of their souls and relationship. Of course all ...

  • Indrajit - The best part of the season

The season begins with a very complicated arc, the shaman arc with Alti. I personally disliked this arc most of all. However, the season winds down in "A Family Affair", with the Destroyer and Hope being killed, which is a better episode. This entire episode's major feature was the look of the Destroyer. The Destroyer was a very well made concept and villain. The overall look and feel of the character was reminiscent of Alien: Resurrection's Ripley and the Newborn Alien. In many cases, it even shared a heavily similar instance. However, to implement something like this into a Xena storyline worked well overall. The beginning of the season is rather dull, as I said. However, the season redeems itself through "The Way", an episode featuring Indrajit, a very awesome villain with numerous arms ...

  • Great continuing and deepening story lines!

For three seasons Xena inthralled and excited her fans. Gabrielle charmed and enlightened us. The fourthe season deliveres no less from the two heroes. Filled with adventure, battles, and razor edge humor and heartfelt emotions this dvd set realy is a catylyst for the final two seasons; setting the stage for deeper, darker and funnier stories to come as well as deepening the bond between the two beloved women. Come join Xena and Gabrielle along with other loveable good guys such as Joxer, Autolocus, Aphrodite, Meg and Epphanie. As well as those hard to hate villians; Ares, Callisto and Hope and see how super hero's did things in a time of Warlards, Gods.... and Xena: Warrior Princess.

  • Xena, Season 4

This season sees the character development of Gabrielle. Who is just as much a hero as Xena herself is, in my opinion. The soul-mated duo meet a Jesus-esque character to whom Gabby disciples herself. Not to spoil anything, but her path doesn't quite go along the way she expected or hoped. I very much enjoyed the maturation of Gabrielle and cried at the end of the last episode for the season. There are at least two multi-episode story arcs that are epic in scope and visual appeal. Overall, the series starts to become more dark, but I believe that is what has made it so interesting and applicable to many people. (Anyway, I'll leave those types of discussions for the Xena fan message boards. ;) ) I purchased this to further my collection at the time. I now am the proud owner of the whole ...

  • Xena Season Four engages in many ways and has many surprises! Recommended~O

In a series full of iconic and superlative episodes sprinkled throughout the six seasons, season four of Xena can probably be best described as the "lost season." This boxset still contains GREAT TELEVISION, especially compared to today's storyless hour-long music infomercials. Unlike that crap, Xena did not have to sell to me. I bought season four to complete the series and to watch all the stories. Although this season doesn't have as many memorable episodes as previous or later seasons, it does contain some of the most spiritual and intellectual stories of the entire series. There are plenty of extras and goodies in this boxset, as do all the season boxsets. This season has some Callisto, a few Amazon episodes, the India stories and of course the "Ides of March" episode. Highly ...
