Tiger Woods PGA Tour has been one of EA's best franchises. TW07 for PS3 has some of the best graphics I've seen on the first round of PS3 sports games, and the gameplay does not disappoint either. The facial expressions and faces themselves are very detailed. Creating your own golfer is easier than ever yet very detailed. Another note on the great graphics: on a high def TV, the water on this game looks amazing - cant wait to see how they can make the graphics better for TW08! Some old TW features are missing however. For example, I was a huge fan of the sponsorships that were offered after winning tournaments or placing in tournaments (e.g. TW '05). After getting the sponsorships, you would get extra money for wearing apparel or using equipment from that sponsor. So far in this game, I have won two tournaments, and my player is on the "Legend" level and still no sponsorship offers. There are cheats you can put in to get certain sponsorships (easily found on any cheat website online), but I cant figure out how to get the sponsorships on my own. It also includes an ESPN.com Radio update and Bottom Line. Online features are pretty solid as well. There are online tournaments that you can enter in order to get more money for your created golfer. In the end, if you are into sports and own a PS3, I think you would enjoy TW07.Read full review
the last fun tiger woods i had was ps2 2004. i loved that game for one reason, when you got to the green a caddy tip popped up saying like 2ft right and 1 inch long. it made the putting so much better. so then i went out and bought the 2006 one. somewhere in the meantime tiger decided he wanted to make it so hard that his games were now unplayable for me. he took out the caddy tips and now you have to guess where you think the ball should go. so then i decided to try a new one for ps3. nothing has changed and you still have to guess where you think the ball will go. it may be fine for some people that like a challenge, but i just wish that tiger would have left an option for the old style caddy tips.
Let me start by telling you that I hate golf. I would rather spend a day in the dentist chair than a day on the links. There is nothing apealing about golf to me. Yuk! Now on to the review, this is a GREAT game! You have total control over your player or your career. It starts you off slow enough that you are forced to learn how to play without realizing that your learning, you just think your having fun. The visuals are amazing and the sound is great. I play it on a 60' plasma screen and it feels like I am at Pebble Beach (wherever that is). It's simply amazing. The game also seems to adjust to your game play and that makes it more fun to play. You dont get the feeling that the computer cant be beaten. It keeps you n the game and makes you try to get better. I could not give this game higher praise and let me remind you that I hate golf. How good does the game have to be for me to like it???????Read full review
I have been a huge fan of the woods series since 2001.This game takes the cake.I especially like the tiger challenge and how you dont have to play all your opponents in order,if your having trouble with a player try a different one.Theres also a ton of unlockables and you can take your player online to test him against other players around the world.I also like how the training is set up,if you just want to practice driving you can do that,or putting and so on.Also theres a new feature called the loft stick,it so you can adjust where your going to hit the ball with the club, unlike others where you'd have to hold the button there this one stays. The other cool thing is the 'my game face' feature, its really easy to make your golfer look just like you in 10 minutes.Theres a couple new courses and all the old ones, with newe golfers to play against. The graphics are unmatched by any other syatem,i simply love this game.Read full review
The latest installment of the Tiger Woods series is a vast improvement over the 2006 edition. To be fair I have to compare this version to the 2005 version, which was almost perfect if it wasn’t for the stupid Tiger Vision feature. The graphics are amazing, which I expected on the PS3 platform, and the loft option was a nice added feature. The create-a-character is the best so far, after an hour in front of the mirror my golfer is the spitting image of yours truly. I don’t like that there is no paintbrush feature to make custom tattoos and logos, I liked that when I went online in 05 my golfer had a custom Puma t shirt no one else had. I also liked that I could sport a hat on backwards. These are minor details since the game itself is fantastic. I like how they structured the Tiger Challenge; it really kept me into it. I also liked that you have to earn your skills rather than purchase them (In previous versions I would just go to the ranges and max my golfer in less than 30 minutes). I do miss the facility and other target practice games that were not given the same attention in this version; they were replaced with one large range and different shooting locations. The courses are beautiful but not as many as previous versions, after completing one season I didn’t have the desire to do a second. The online is always my favorite feature; after you max out your golfers stats you get to put your skills to the test. The online is smooth and lots of fun; this makes the game one you can hold onto for a while as you hone your skills. In summary I wouldn’t pass on this great game. The graphics and online modes are enough to make this game worthy of a solid 8.5 out of 10.Read full review
Tiger Woods golf games are highly rated in my book. The game play is fairly simple, and details/graphics are one of a kind. You start out with basic golf clubs, balls, etc. and the better you do, the more money you make. You start out playing the easier players to help you get better acquainted with the game. Once you start to master your skills, you eventually get to the point where you play Tiger Woods. The overall game play is fairly easy, the courses get harder and requires you to use more thought out shots. To me this game is awesome,I would recommend this game to any player who likes golf or would like to try it out.
This game is so much fun. As you get better you can buy equipment to help your game. Its very challenging and fun. The only thing I don't like. Is the process of moving on to the next hole. You always have to hit the "X" button after losing or winning the hole. Some of the character's pre-swing routines get a little annoying. X-button again to advance to next level in game. Why did they make Miss A. Sorrensen look so bad. She's not that bad looking? I decided to buy this game because I love golf and I played this game on Xbox and on my PC.
The game works good but has a few wierd kinks to it. Sometimes the sound will turn off but the game will still be running. This has happened to me once or twice but its no real problem. The other thing that is weird is twice now after i play a round i hear sports announcing coming from the tv speakers and it sounds real darn close to espn sports shows. Im thinking PTI. but overall the game is great and works well enough to keep me happy.
This is a truly fun game. Now, with that being said, I don't play golf, and have never played golf. And never will play golf. But this game is flat out fun. I can't attest to its realism, or anything relating to golf. The graphics are fantastic, and the announcers aren't obnoxious like they are in alot of games. I enjoy this game mostly because its slow paced. You don't always need to be racing 100 miles an hour, or blowing things up to have fun with PS3. Its relaxing and challenging too.
Although it's not '09, it is definitely the game to buy if you don't want to shell out the money on '09. The graphics are great, and the courses are realistic. Even the creating and using your own character option is very entertaining. Each time I start a new hole, I actually think I can do well with it!
