  • Mary Colter--The Western Style Designer & Builder

I purchased the Mary Colter Book for the reason that I had just finished reading The Harvey Girls by Lesley Poling-Kempes and wanted to learn more about Mary and her association with Fred Harvey. The lady was bright and a tough cookie wrapped up in one. She knew what Fred wanted in building design and could accomplish the mission. The book gave a wealth of information about her life and how it inter-twined with the Fred harvey Restaurants and Hotels along the Atchison, Topeka &Santa Fe Railway west of Chicago, IL.
