    Total leaps & bounds from hardcore to indie perfection!

    Codeseven may just win the award for most-improved hardcore band ever. Starting off as a near copycat of the legions of metalcore bands in the past half-decade, Codeseven have matured to an impressive point, creating the album that really should have been Cave In's followup to their phenomenal Jupiter leap. With hints of their heavy past safely in tow, Dancing Echoes / Dead Sounds is a captivating listen with more infectious melodies than blistering breakdowns. The sung vocals are passionate in a very urgent way, without being cheesy or overdramatic ala Bright Eyes. With loads of psychedelic influence, this album is held together quite well and is still stuff you can sing along to and not have to call a guiltily pleasure. Highly recommended.
