Be patient, and don't be afraid to contact customer support for assistance on these awesome racks.
Upon opening of the box, the components appear to be of high quality. The instructions, however, are another story. If you are a problem solver and good at visual puzzles, you'd love it. I am not very well with such quandries and struggled at first. Once I figured out that i had the metal straps in backwards (which upon installation seems counterintuitive), the ratcheting mechanism works perfectly. Now, as far as the positioning for the horizontal bars go, there is NO information on placement. I researched for 2+ hours on different racks and found that most manufacturers have varying recommendations for placement on different vehicles. I took an average of all sampled product instructions and came up with a measurement of 9" from the top of the windshield of my 2013 camry. For the ... For the placement on the rear bar, I came up with 32" from the center post of the front bar. After the struggle of installation, the roof racks function perfectly. I use them to strap all sorts of odd items to the top of my car that otherwise require the request of a friend's truck or van. The only side effect of having the racks hard mounted to the car is the hooks that clip onto the roof at the door recesses. there is a little road noise that is noticable at speed, but after one excursion, you get used to it. All in all, this is a great rack for the price and I highly recommend it to other cheapskates like myself.

Good product... just take your time
Way better quality than expected for the actual bar but the locks/keys were disappointing (one of the two pairs didn’t even work) just make sure you take your time to read the directions and not force anything too strong or you’ll snap parts. Good product for the price and for a easily removable roof rack! I would recommend grabbing these!

If you are looking for top grade roof racks keep looking but if you are looking for roof racks that are worth $55 you have found just the product for you they work great I installed them on my wife's 08 Nissan Sentra and put a basket on top they were kind of a pain to install but once it was done they were solid and don't move at all. I found the instructions that came with the rack to difficult to understand and incomplete. However, once I figured it all out, it went together perfectly. We took it on a 1200 mile trip and it never got loose or moved at all. I'm very pleased with the racks! This is on a 2009 Prius. Because of what we put between the two racks, the front rack is just a few inches above the windshield. Because of this, the front rack is tipped forward. This causes a whistle. This is NOT the fault of the rack design, but a result of the curved roof design of our Prius -- just a note to other Prius owners...I found the instructions that came with the rack to difficult to understand and incomplete.
