As with any price guide, there were prices I felt were too low, and others too high. Coverage and diversity of subject was outstanding! Everything from collar brass to tanks was covered with excellent photos and background information. Having been a collector of Vietnam memorabilia for 30+ years I was fascinated to see this book come along. Should be an excellent reference for authors and researchers who want to address the artifacts in their work. I would expect it to create major ripples in interest and demand in the future! Great if you are selling the stuff but not so good if you are buying it!
It is a good book on the surface. Good photos. After reading it, I was looking for more. There were a lot of items that were left out and things that didn't really need to be in there. Armored vehicles and other transports aren't of much interest to most collectors and certainly not widely available to most collectors. Missing were a number of field gear items like the M-1961 USMC rig with the M-14 pouches and the belt they snap onto. Tan summer uniform items worn while in R&R or other occasions. Dress uniforms and accessories. Military Police items. Special forces. I just wish they would've taken this effort just a bit further.
Has a lot of information on the more common gear. The prices are quite dated. A second edition would be nice.

Like the fact that there are high quality color photos. Dislike the fact that there is NO detailed information as far as variations and no info concerning the designation lettering that is on every piece of USGI equipment. Also, many pages wasted on items that the average collector will never be able to acquire, such as jeeps, trucks, tanks, howitzers... Some photos have no captions or incorrect info. The most dissapointing subject was the combat uniforms. There is little or no info on the time periods involved on any item. Just NOT enough details period. This looks more like a museum guide than reference material.
Great book for the Vietnam collector and really even the historian. The prices are dated, as one would expect for a collectibles book, but still a very valuable reference!
