I have two Rebars. The first one was purchased brand new in original package at full price about 9 months ago. This current one was purchased new, open box at a substantial discount. I also should note that the first one came with the nylon sheath, this latest one came with the leather sheath. For some reason I prefer the nylon. Things I really like about the Rebar: Good set of tools. The ones that are supposed to be sharp are very sharp. You get a plain edge blade, a serrated blade and a saw. Can't ask for much more. All tools lock, even the smaller ones. Unlike most Leatherman multi-tools, the Rebar has an actual 3D Philips head screwdriver with a decent length. That's a huge plus. It's also the right size so it can accept a 1/4" barrel style bit adapter. Major plus right there. Nice plier head with replaceable wire cutter blades. The whole thing feels well built, not too heavy and well balanced in the hand. Also sized right. Not too big, not too small. Things I do not like about the Rebar: Does not have spring loaded pliers. Does not come with a pocket clip. Does not have outside accessible tools. It must be opened to get to anything. Does not have scissors. Lastly, the way that the frame is constructed, the edges can dig into your hand if squeezing hard on the pliers. Lastly, while the current cost is not totally unreasonable, I would be much more comfortable if the retail cost was about $20 less.Read full review

This is a very good every day carry tool. It has replaceable cutters on the needle nose section of the tool and will cut very hard metals. each of the screwdriver bits is very well machined and fits the screws just right. the files are sharp and cut cleanly. The knife edges are superb and I especially like the scalloped blade for cutting cardboard and leather. They keep a very sharp edge even with repeated use and are easey to resharpen.

It's a better fit than a full Leatherman 300, but still has full size Phillip drives and flat for screws. Also has replaceable Wirecutter insets on the jaws. More durable than single piece designs as seen on 200 and wingman models.

the rebar is a pretty good choice in the mid range multitool, pretty pretty good needle pliers! but when the multitool is close, the handles are not pretty well aligned... but the tool is fully fonctionnal and is blades are sharp as hell! since I bought it, it always with me and it looks pretty tough tool for its size

This is, oz. for oz. the best multi tool you can own. Has the big, supertool pliers, all the tools you need, they function well, doesn’t pull your pants down and is well under 100 bucks. I’ve been carrying leathermans since the ‘80’s and have many. This is my favorite, light weight but has everything you need, carry it everywhere. Not as fancy as the others but do you really need a pair of scissors? Only thing I miss is the leather sheath which you can buy once this one wears out.
