- e***c (1592)- Feedback left by buyer.More than a year agoVerified purchaseIt melts yellow brass very well. After 2.5 hours I turned it off as the instructions state to run 3 hours and then turn off. I will use it again to melt brass/copper. The red gloves are protective however they use a black plastic trim between the top of the fingers and the bottom of the fingers. the plastic melts quickly when using the gloves. The lid handle is convenient, but the knob is too close to the furnace and gets too hot to raise with bare hands. I use the tongs to raise the lid.
