  • Truman Capote, ingenious, outrageous, cruel and kind.

Very interesting biography about a very gifted writer and a character who used people in upper class society for his own amusement. They were intrigued by him and showered him with themselves and the delights that the very very rich could offer. He,in turn, gossiped about each and every one of them to each and every one of them. And they still loved him. You go figure. His downfall really began with the success of his great novel "In Cold Blood". It brought him fame but ruined him also. To actually watch these killers who he interviewed for 2 years hang i think really destroyed him as he did become very attached to them even though they were brutal murderers. You go figure that one also. Of course, it ended with his abuse of drugs of every nature. Not surprising.

A nice copy sent FAST by thriftbooks. Very good book. Written like a novel. Like the author was there with him living his life. VERY detailed.
