The polished mahogany ear-cup structures of the Denon AH-D5000 headphone set draw on the acoustic properties of the wood to provide you with a soothing, warm sound. Small holes on the outside of the mahogany ear cups further heighten the sound experience. For comfort, the earphones come with extra padding for the ears and an adjustable padded headband. The ear pads are covered with a thick black padding that will keep your ears comfortable at all times. The drivers found on this pair of Denon headphones are equipped with neodymium magnets. The frequency range goes all the way from 5 to 45,000 Hz, supporting an expansive volume range. A cable extending nearly 10 feet with a 3.5mm plug conveniently attaches the earphones to your audio system. At 10 feet in length, you are not bound to the area immediately surrounding where the device is hooked up. In addition, the phones come with an adapter for connecting to quarter-inch jacks. Whether you are mixing music or watching a DVD in private, the headphones consistently give you clear, well-defined sound. The microfiber diaphragm equipped on this D5000 headphone set is around 100x denser than standard diaphragms. This ensures a better sonic reproduction and enhanced transmission rates. At just under a pound in weight, these Denon AH-D5000 headphones are highly portable. Whether taking a lengthy train ride or using them at work, they can be worn for a long time. The reason for the light weight of these headphones is the inclusion of a magnesium frame. At a size of 5.0 inches by 8.9 inches by 10.6 inches, they can easily fit into a bag or large purse. The framing of these D5000 headphones is equipped with extra cushioning to make sure that you are as comfortable as possible. An acoustic optimizer is installed directly into this Denon AH-D5000 headphone set, allowing for great acoustic performance. The cables attached to these Denon headphones are high-purity oxygen-free cables that are equipped with a cloth mesh jacket. This jacket assists with the elimination of line distortion and the continuance of very good sound quality.     well worth the money

    The Denon AH-D5000 is extremely nice headphones great sound quality and balance. These are one step above the D2000 in sound quality and finish and one step below the D7000 for finish and sound quality. These headphones I would highly recommend over the D7000 for value. No fancy cardboard box to show them off. That said, I recommend the D2000 the most d5000 second and the D7000 third. If price was no object of course I would recommend the D7000 the most. I own all three models and all three are my favorites for comfort and sound quality. It takes close listening on a quality system with a quality recording to tell the difference between the D7000 and the D5000. I think finish is the major difference between the two models.

    Professional Headphones made in China

    Good things first, I love the way they sound, deep, deep bass and pristine crystal clear treble with very well balanced mids. These headphones are also very comfortable to wear, over all a great purchase. But... The things Denon doesn't shine, considering these Headphones are made in China and the fact that my set had R-L somehow reversed they are a not bad of a set of Headphones but the list sales price is a little over board for this product. It seems Denon so as it's official dealers have gotten greedy, a more justified sales prices would be around $250 in my opinion. So shop around, don't buy these at the ridiculous list price of $699 or so.

    ...if you really want to know what it sounds like.

    Excellent headphones that really lets you know what's happening in a mix, for real! Perfect for the mixing music producer. Not so good for recording though cause they're not totally closed. But as I said, absolutely perfect for mixing. Get these headphones together with a SPL Phonitor and you can do mixes at your home without disturbing your family as if you were working in a multimillion dollar recording studio.

    Love those D5000's

    This is my third pair. I had some build quality problems on one, I sold my second pair and now I'm getting the D7000 but on the off chance I don't love the D7000 I had to get another D5000 as they are one of my favorite phones. #I think the D5000 are something special regardless the D7000 which, good or bad are supposed to have a different sound to the D2000/D5000.

    good product

    good product however no carry case provided. I have a set of Bose that are convience to carry however the Denon sound is much better.
