Sony's critically acclaimed in-house baseball series makes its third appearance on PS3 in MLB 09: The Show. Just as every baseball season offers new hope to fans around the country, each new iteration of The Show dishes up a host of new in-game features, and MLB 09 is no exception. The career-like "Road to the Show" mode, in which gamers guide a young player from the minor leagues all the way to a potential spot in the Hall of Fame, includes tweaks to the leadoff/steal mechanic, additional coach interactions, and an all-new interactive training mode. Similar to drills in the Madden NFL series, MLB 09's interactive training takes the form of mini-games designed to improve a created player's attributes and performance.<br><br>Designed to accurately mimic the intricate nature of baseball negotiations and roster manipulation, the "Franchise" mode features a variety of upgrades, including 40-man rosters, realistic salary arbitration, type A and B free agent compensation, waiver wire transactions, and September call-ups. The biggest change for online gamers is the addition of online season leagues, complete will full drafts and flexible schedules that allow people to play ahead in the season. MLB 09: The Show also offers a number of new features in the bells and whistles department, including mascots, realistic day/night cycles, weather appropriate crowd apparel, and the ability to create custom soundtracks, batter walk-up music, and in-game chants.

Returning this item. Bad condition. Basically trash. Seller needs to take better pictures of the items and describe the item more clearly. Seller will refund at this point and I appreciate that. I appreciate the shipping speed and communication. But sometimes clarity and communication comes at a cost that this seller is more than willing to pay, with can be a bad thing at times for a busy buyer. Be sure on your item because seller won't. Disappointed would be an understatement. Disgusted really.

    PS3 MLB The Show 09

    To start off the game has great graphics as most PS3 games have. Online play is a bit tricky and slow especially during the day with a slow DSL connection. But thats partly due to Playstation's free network. Regular season mode can be a bit frustrating as it involves managing the franchise. Keeping up with advertising, stadium, fans, concession stands, etc is truly too much for someone just looking to play. There is no home-run derby or any other sort of head to head skill challenges. I still give this game a 8 out of 10. Great graphics, controls are easy, and a wide variety of options to control your team.

    MLB '09: The Show

    I've always been a fan of baseball games and this title certainly does not disappoint. It does have some rather long load times, but other than that the game is incredible. With several different modes to go through, the replay value cannot be beat. The graphics are very life-like, and the controls are fairly easy to master. Highly recommend this game to anyone.

    Great game

    So far Ive only played the road to the show, and its very enjoyable. The commentators never get old unlike some other games (Madden) where you want to rip your hair off and tell them to be quiet. The action is also very realistic and a lot of fun. The only issue I saw is that sometimes on Road to the Show it seems that if you have a, this hitter will struggle to hit .250, the A.I. seems to get really tough to ensure you remain close to that .250. I might be delusional but after hitting .340 my player went cold turkey and couldnt get a hit no matter where I hit it. Besides all that it is an amazing game, closest to reality in any game Ive ever played.

    So much fun!

    This game is so much fun to play. The Show gets more realistic every year and 09 took some big jumps from 08. The Road to the Show is so much better and faster to go through and play nearly a month of baseball in an hour or two. I would definitely suggest this game to anyone who loves sports. I think this game got me back into the sport of baseball. I will continue to buy this game as it continues to get better in the coming years.

    Great Game !!

    I never played the MLB the show series on PS3, only on the PSP. I got to say that the graphics on the game are unbelievable!! Especially on the PS3. You can play online with other players around the world with the sport connection. Build your own player and get drafted and work your way up to The Show. Overall, a great game to play if you are a baseball fan.
