About this product

Product Information

You've seen the blockbuster The Phantom Menaceâ„¢. You've read the #1 New York Times bestselling book based on George Lucas's masterpiece. Now, before the eagerly awaited release of Episode II, comes a stunning new Star Wars novel from one of science fiction's greatest talents, a writer universally acclaimed for his keen grasp of cutting-edge science and the brilliance of his page-turning plots: multiple Hugo- and Nebula-Award winning author Greg Bear. The result is pure adrenaline--an unforgettable journey stretching from the farthest reaches of known space to the battlefield of a young boy's heart, where a secret struggle is being waged that will decide the fate of billions. That boy is twelve-year-old Anakin Skywalker. The Force is strong in Anakin . . . so strong that the Jedi Council, despite misgivings, entrusted the young Jedi master Obi-Wan Kenobi with the mission of training him to become a Jedi Knight. Obi-Wan--like his murdered master Qui-Gon-- believes Anakin may be the Chosen One, the Jedi destined to bring balance to the Force. But first Obi-Wan must help his undisciplined, idealistic apprentice, who still bears the scars of slavery, find his own balance. Dispatched to the mysterious planet of Zonama Sekot, source of the fastest ships in the galaxy, Obi-Wan and Anakin are swept up in a swirl of deadly intrigue and betrayal. For the Trade Federation is interested in Zonama Sekot as well. Raith Sienar, a brilliant but unscrupulous weapons and ship designer, seizes the opportunity to make a killing by stealing the secret of the superfast ships. As Sienar strikes with all the brutal power of the Trade Federation, Obi-Wan and Anakin sense a disturbance in the Force unlike any they have encountered before. It seems there are more secrets on Zonama Sekot than meet the eye. The search for those secrets will threaten the bond between Obi-Wan and Anakin . . . and bring the troubled young apprentice face-to-face with his deepest fears--and his darkest destiny.

Item did not arrive as described. I contacted the seller to give them a chance to make it right but no response. I paid for “very good” condition and there was sticker in the middle of the case. Seller did not show this in the original listing and even used the game manual to sneakily hide it in each picture. For that I’m leaving a negative review. As a buyer and collector it seems very disingenuous, no need for these tactics. Other than that the game works, CIB and arrived on time.

Item came in good working condition with no damage, as described. Unfortunately, in shipping the disc case had pressure applied to it, causing the disc to pop out of its holder. Luckily, this caused no damage, but it very well could have. Better packaging could have been used to prevent this.

Item is not new as listed (corroded non rechargeable batteries found inside radio, package taped closed, and no instructions). The radio is however in excellent condition and works well. New rechargeable batteries were installed, set up instructions found and followed from YouTube. From outward appearances, perhaps originally a customer return and resale. I like this radio, and I'm overall pleased with price and shipping. The issues found do not warrant a Neutral or Negative rating. Thanks

  • An interesting story; essential for New Jedi Order

This book tells the story of one of the many missions that Obi-Wan and his apprentice Anakin went on while Anakin was in the early stages of his apprenticeship. It's an interesting story with some fast-paced action and some brooding hints at the future of the young padawan. However, if you are reading the New Jedi Order, you will want to have read this book as it is a very important piece of the puzzle. I don't want to spoil anything, but trust me when I say that it will make much more sense in the long run.

  • A book for die hard Star Wars fans

If I could sum up what I think about this book, it would be....It was just OK. For me, the whole thing about a planet making organic ships just didn't do it for me. It just seemed to really drag in some parts. However, this book does give you a upclose view of Obi-Wan and Anakin's relationship between episodes I & II. I think this is a must read for big Star Wars fan's, but maybe not casual reader.

  • Worth the read.

This book takes place after episode 1 and before episode 2.It is a great read if you want to know more about Anakin Skywalker as a padawan. And knowing about rouge planet will make it better when it becomes part of the story again later in the star wars novels!

  • Kept me hooked from beginning to end!

Very good book that keeps you hooked from cover to cover. Hard to put down but has some very short chapters which was a bit odd. Well worth the read!
