As the first title in the series to be released for a handheld device, Silent Hill Origins uncovers how the quaint country town became a terrifying and abandoned wasteland. Players lead trucker Travis Grady around the foggy and rust-colored environments as they attempt to make it to the safety outside Silent Hill city limits.<br><br>Origins debuts the use of a "cineractive system" within the game that is designed to intensify the feelings of isolation and uncertainty. Gamers must react to interactive cut-scenes by entering button sequences to execute a counter attack or respond to the current situation. <br><br>As Travis works his way through the game, he can collect items including knives, portable television sets, and sledgehammers to use against the soulless monsters that inhabit Silent Hill. Each potential armament has a durability rating, and objects will eventually break. To complete the game, Travis must make his way through the traps, puzzles, monsters, and obstacles that face him at every turn.

No Mention of the Game being a different region in description. No picture of the game card either. Assumed it would be the US Version that matched the case. The game and the case do not match. It not complete, IMO. The case is PCSE 00119- US Version Ragnarok Odyssey. The game is VCAS 32038- ASIAN English Ragnarok Odyssey. Asian English version of games swap the O and X button.

    Who doesn't like Silent Hill?

    I love how silent hill games for the psp are so detailed and with great little things, I would highly recommend this game if you like horror games, great story, great gameplay, amazing graphics I just love it ❤️

    Silent Hill: Origins Good

    Silent Hill: Origins is supposed to be a prequel and more of the same. Since I’ve never played a Silent Hill game, I tried it and it’s an adventure game with some combat. It tries to psych you out with creepy music and flashbacks. It inspired novels and comics and it’s ok. The entry level monsters can beat you if there are 2 of them and they get near you so that’s refreshing. The bosses are actually easier since you can run around them while shooting. A game with an M rating coz you carry a little girl that’s been burned alive and watch the protagonist talking to his dad who’s hanging from the ceiling after a successful suicide attempt.

    Silent Hill Origins is a Great PSP game

    If you loved the Silent Hill games on the Playstation and PS2 then you will love this game for the PSP. It has been a few years since playing a Silent Hill game so I gave this one a shot and I have completed it twice. The graphics are top notch and the game play is pretty smooth. The only thing that I did not like was when you would go into certain buildings (hospital, theater, etc) you could not leave these places until you completed the objective. I like more of a free roaming game where you can go where you want when you want but I can live with it. I would have to say that so far this is my favorite game for the PSP.

    A great addition to the PSP & the Silent Hill Series

    Silent Hill: Origins is a prequel to the original game and follows the adventure of Travis Grady, a truck driver who is mysteriously pulled into the quiet, foggy resort town of Silent Hill after rescuing a girl from a burning house. Unfortunately, he's unable to leave after that because all the roads leading out of town suddenly end with nothing but a steep cliff and fog at the end. On top of that, the town is almost completely deserted, besides hordes of nightmarish creatures. The controls are nice and the gameplay is a nice mix of survival horror and puzzle. This game is a perfect conversion of a console game to a portable system. The game is short, but it is a very enjoyable ride while it lasts and is a must buy for any psp owner.

    Creepy

    I strongly recommend playing this game with the headphones on and the lights off! The graphics are superb and the soundtrack will give you chills. The controls are intuitive enough that most players can figure them out on the go. Go back to the beginning and learn the secrets of sleepy little Silent Hill. Trucker, Travis Grady, finds himself drawn into a web of confusion and nightmarish imagery after rescuing a little girl from a housefire. Now, he must struggle to rescue himself and perhaps find some answers to riddles from his past as well as the cure for his disturbing nightmares. Get this one! It's like a good book, you won't put it down until you're done.
