Great experience. Item as described. Packaging looked a bit suspect at first but all items arrived in great condition so no complaints. Shipping costs seemed a bit excessive for the packaging but order was shipped and delivered promptly so no complaints. Would do business again with this individual.

For booting to multiple drives one at a time, this is a good solution.

You might ask why would anyone want this switch? It's obvious what it does: power on and off drives in your computer at will (up to 6). Sure, you can just enter the bios and boot to whatever drive you want. You can also just set the default boot drive and use all of them at once, like for a disk stripe array, or for storage. But if you do it that way, all your drives are powered on, all the time. If you don't want to do that, then a switch like this is one of the best ways to do it. The way I fix windows problems is to just wipe the drive and clone it over again. (I used to be an MCSE - there's no magic command line words to type, that'll fix an old dodgy windows load. You can spend hours trying this to no avail.) No virus worries, no problems with corrupt folders and drivers, simply ...

    KingWin Hard Drive Power Switch

Not a good product. The front panel LEDs are blindingly bright in a low light level room. The side frame sheet metal is too short to reach the back mounting screw holes available in most PC cabinets. A bit scary in use. If you push the wrong button so as to connect to the wrong drive, you can seriously damage your PC in a very unforgiving way. Fail safes or at least means to better label buttons would help so you don't get surprised by what you recall was behind each of six doors. Also seemed to not like working with SSds and I have no idea why.

  • Great product, but cables make a mess

I primarily use an SSD for day to day tasks, but I have a couple large spinning disk hard drives with video projects, which don't use daily. With this power switch, I keep my hard drives inside the case and only turn them on when needed, without fiddling with SATA connectors or wasting desk space with external caddies. With hot swapping turned on, I can access the data whenever needed, and save on power and noise the rest of the time. So far it has worked perfectly well. The only issue I have with the product is that the cables are thick and stiff and very hard to manage. The switch receives power from either dual molex or dual SATA power cables, but you can't remove the ones you aren't using. Similarly, the power out from the switch is bundled into two sets of three cables. If you have ...

  • Outstanding product

I have used this for quite a while and it has worked perfectly. I have three SATA drives in my tower and about to put another hard drive in. As far as the bright blue lights on the bottom of each button i put a piece of translucent tape over all six lights and that takes care of the brightness
