Nice addition. Sounds a good as one’d expect a sound bar to do..can’t beat the price either. One great thing is the looks; it matches the tv and dtv box. Also, it is very instuitive and easy to set up and use. Just sit back and push a botton to switch between IPh, Ipad, tv via optical cable(included),dtv via coaxial cable and up to 10 sources via bluetooth. Now I watch sports and listen to music simul......Nice addition. Sounds a good as one’d expect a sound bar to do..can’t beat the price either. I had another unit I purchased another unit 9 months ago and was quite happy with the overall performance. This came up on sale and I got it for another room. It is easy to set up, works well, sounds fairly good and is good looking. It does not have the real deep bass I used to have. I had a 725 watt system with 5 speakers and a separate sub woofer that shook the house...also made by Yamaha. For an average room I think it will match up with most systems. Loving our new Yamaha sound bar!
The sound is comparable to other sound bars in its price range, although it does seem to have more bass than our old one. What made it exceptional was it’s “TV Remote Repeater” capability. It has the ability to allow you to use your IR or RF, (TV or satellite) remote to control the sound bars power/volume/mute. It still comes with its own remote but I cannot tell you how handy it is to only have to use one remote for your day to day TV watching. In our case, we programmed it to our DirecTV RF remote with no problems. The Bluetooth feature works well too. I was steaming music off my iPhone with no problems. A very simple, relatively compact answer to dramatically improving your television's sound. It's not a true surround system, but I'll have to admit that occasionally I look at the other side of the room while hearing a sound when there's nothing there. Music is accurate with this sound bar and it's very powerful for a mid-priced sound bar. All in all a great value and a marked improvement for those who simply want their television to sound better. Great soundbar - super simple.
Picked this up for $180 from Newegg. Can’t beat the quality for that kind of money. Super simple set up. Had it installed and working in less than 5 minutes. Obviously you shouldn’t expect true surround sound quality. I have a 5.1 setup in my movie room that will shake the house, but this thing works great as an addition to our living room tv. The bass is very deep in intense action scenes and voice audio is crystal clear. If you’re willing to spend the kind of money on a bose or sonos, you should consider spending that money on a complete surround system.
