You get what you pay for . . . .
This is a solid pedestal sound bar for my 37" in HD TV. Just the right amount of "big sound" for a small space. Simply designed and with emphasis on performance over appearance. It's basically a black box on which a TV can rest. Three front speakers and one subwoofer on the bottom do a decent job of providing solid sound. I especially like the "accu-voice" feature which adds lots of treble to talk-tv, such as news casts and conversation-based shows like "The Blacklist" and "The Good Wife." Much easier to hear the conversations with accu-voice than with regular tv speakers or even the surround-sound feature of the 350 ZVOX. There are a couple of ZVOX sound systems below the 350; but I think the 350 could be considered the base model, and the higher end models would be stronger for movies, ... This is a compact unit with great sound. I have a simple system: dvd, flat screen, old pioneer tuner/receiver and in wall b&W speakers. I couldn't get a good optical digital to analog converter so I was stuck with the tv speakers. The 350 solved that problem and added some lacking bass to the b&W setup. Now when I play a cd through the pioneer to the 350 the sound is great and the tv/dvd sound is also great. I especially like the sound evening feature to neutralize those loud ads. our first sound bar
due to aging ears and reduced hearing, we were advised to buy a sound bar for our TV. ZVOX came highly rated and we wanted a sound base instead of a bar. This one met out requirements (including the size of the unit, that it would fit under the TV and on the TV stand - some sound bases are quite large). It was refurbished and sold by ZVOX. It has a setting to make voices more clear, and it seems to work. Surprisingly great sound out of this small package. If you're looking for booming bass, then this may not be for you. This delivers a clear, crisp, accurate sound that can seriously fill a room. Every bit as good as the Bose unit with a smaller footprint and better appearance.

Glad to have the zvox 350
The Accuvoice is especially helpful when watching Brittish mysteries on PBS. The sound levelling is nice with TV in general. The hookup was easy even for this inexpierenced senior; the set up for CD listening was a little more difficult but well within my ability. The Ebay refurbished price was a real bargain.
