Comparing to the Chinese version
Please notice the difference in model numbers D2FC* and D2F. D2FC* (Correct me if I am wrong) appears to be the Chinese model of the D2F series, and is most likely the omron switch in your mouse. These switches do differ from the Chinese D2FC-F-7N versions, which is the type most will be replacing. Determining which one is better, is merely based on preference and switch life. Having the D2F-01F and the D2FC-F-7N versions next to each other, the Chinese version generates a stronger 'snap' in the switch activation, while the Japanese D2F-01F produces a smoother, less extreme 'snap.' For any mechanical switch, there are different quantities of force to be applied, at different distances in the switch stem travel. There is the force required to bring the switch to the point of activation, ... Please notice the difference in model numbers D2FC* and D2F. Because information on the Internet is scarce on this topic, this is all based on my own experience and speculation with the two switches, I do find that the D2F-01F series to be better than the D2FC-F-7N. They tend to be more "tame," and produce a more mellow tone. The D2F-01F may seem too soft for some, and there are series which require more force for switch activation. Overall, I am surprised, I did not like the D2F-01F immediately, but over the past few days, I seem to have changed my opinion.
