I had a hard time with Plan 'A' when it first came out , found it to be less tehn expected . I've since binded with this CD , and find it to be the best of the more recent Hip albums . If you have the chance to listen to the hip in retrospect , I believe you'll find a steady progression in their sound , which is the mark of a great band . I'd give it another shot , if you too were initially disappointed . Once you find the groove of Now For Plan A , you'll find it a satisfactory work , by a National Canadian Treasure , The Tragically Hip .I had a hard time with Plan 'A' when it first came out , found it to be less tehn expected . Sleepy and disappointing, time for plan B.
There is no doubt that the Hip are a great band. They have been going for years, their lives shows are electric and a lot of their songs have become classics. They are actually a real credit to Canadian culture and music in general. Now for Plan A is actually a little disappointing. There are some good songs towards the end of the album, but the first few are wishy washy and not up to par with earlier albums. My wife in particular is a huge fan of the Hip and neither of us could get into the album even after several listens. Hopefully it will get better again with the next album.There is no doubt that the Hip are a great band. One of the best band from the great white north.
Love this band. Toronto's better version of pearl jam. If you have not had the pleasure, I highly would recommend their 2nd & 3rd albums as their best. Gritty music and smart lryics.
