  • One of the best fighting games for the Super Nintendo, after SFII Turbo

I have no idea why ebay is asking me to review a product I did not purchase here. While coincidentally, I did happen to own this game for my Super Nintendo back in the 90s, I haven't played it in about a decade or so. What I remember is that it was a great NEO GEO port despite the lack of scaling, and included all of the fighters and all of their moves. Today, you could just buy the SNK Arcade Classics for $20 for the Nintendo Wii, which includes arcade perfect ports of this game and 15 others. But maybe you're one of the five people in the world who doesn't own a Wii. In that case, and you still have a working Super Nintendo (or one of those cheap knockoffs), here's a fighting game that might be worth $8- $10 at most. Try Street Fighter II Turbo first. Super Nintendo rules.

  • Samurai Shodown/Spirits

A great fighting game that's based around one premise: you use weapons! It started out in the arcade as a weapon based combat system that was a bit slower to start than the Street Fighters/Mortal Kombat. The feel of using weapons is different, as it feels like a bushido game, where timing of strikes is more important than getting special moves out. One of the things I like about this game is that it is simple to pick up moves, and has a good rythmn to it. Also, you can lock your weapons together with your opponent! (Nothing feels better than being able to overpower your opponent with button smashes...) I recommend picking up Samurai Shodown or Samurai Spirits (the Japanese title) if you are a mood for something less gory and more tactical feeling than Mortal Kombat or Street ...

  • Samurai Shodown Review

I bought this game because i found it for the Sega when i was in about 5th grade and i loved it. I never really liked street fighter or mortal kombat but i liked this game because it was simple and the characters were fun. When i bought it for super nintendo, i was happy that it was almost identical to the sega game in graphics but i was shocked when i found out that it didn't have showdown mode (where you pick about 5 characters and battle your friends until you have no more players.) that was my favorite part of the game on sega and i have since stopped playing it on super nintendo. another weird thing is that the super nintendo has a character named earthquake and the sega has this freaky red haired guy with a fan. i liked the freaky red haired guy but i think that i may have gotten him ...

  • Samurai Breakdown

Samurai Showdown is a nice break from playing the all famous street fighter series. It is nice to wield a weapon in your hand for once and battle an opponent one on one. This game has some nice features to it such as when two opponents hit at the same time they are forced into a button smashing duel where eventually there weapons are cast from their hands. All in all its a nice hidden gem among the fighting genre of the super nintendo. EN GARDE!!!!!

  • Samurai Shodown,a great port of a classic!

If you've never played this game I highly recommend it.Its beautiful to look at,the action is paced perfect and it stays true to the arcade version I played for countless hours while skipping school my fresh and sophomore yr,lol!Seriously though this is a GREAT game and worth the price of admission I promise.Youtube has some good vids if you need to see it played.
