This is for a spare refrigerator in my garage. There was no convenient cold water pipe to use the saddle clamp with the piercing valve on. I do have a laundry sink in the garage, and after finding a "T" adapter at a local hardware store, I connected to the cold water shut off valve beneath the sink. Took about 30 minutes, used all 25' of tubing, works great, and no leaks.
The tubing was fine and all the parts were there, but the self piercing tool with the valve left something to be desired. The water 'stream' wasn't sufficient and I'm not sure if it was the valve or the piercing piece that was at fault. My handyman ended up using an existing valve in a different place.
