The HP DesignJet 500 is a high-performance printer ideal for studios and technical businesses that print large-sized technical documents. Measuring 49 x 19 x 14-inches and weighing 85 lbs, this HP large-format printer can print documents that measure up to 24-inch. This inkjet printer has a print speed of 21.5-square-meters per hour for normal colored documents, 85 square meters per hour for high quality, detailed documents, and 35.5 square meters per hour for colored drafts. The printing resolution on this printer is approximately 1200 x 600 dpi ensuring users with clear and crisp printed output. The HP DesignJet 500 is compatible with Windows 2000 and Windows XP operating systems. This HP large-format printer transfers documents from notebook or desktop computer to the printer by a hardwired connection. Internally, this inkjet printer features a 16-MB RAM that can be upgraded to 160 MB for easy recall of downloaded documents. The HP DesignJet 500 uses a maximum media paper size of 24 x 74.7-inches, which is ideal for large-sized graphic or design documents.

    Great CAD/CAM plotter on a budget

    This printer does a great job plotting schematics and mechanical diagrams. A great printer/plotter for an architect or engineer who wants to print at the office, rather than trips to the reprographics place. This does OK for photos or other graphics. You can print a banner if you need to. But it's far better printing out CAD drawings etc. A network card is the best add-on item. Run the ethernet cable from the printer to your router, and wirelessly print from wherever you are in the office or home. Aftermarket inks are readily-available for this printer, which keeps costs down. You can even get an ink station kit if you want to print thousands of sheets of drawings or a lot of banners. This printer uses dye-based inks. Therefore, anything you print wil last about 6 months in direct ...

    Excellent product and easy to fix most of the errors.

    The product has been perfect in its use. On purchase, there was a part missing. I was able to fix it without spending hundreds of dollars on repairs by the so-called technicians. I have recently bought three of the designjet printers and I have fixed all the initial problems that came with them.

    Great product for the cost

    Great for a few pages at a time, more then that too slow and uses too much ink. Not for large batch printing. Color and print quality is great
