NBA HangTime is a two-on-two hoops contest in the tradition of NBA Jam and NBA Jam T.E. Choose from 29 NBA teams and 145 professional stars with ratings based on the 1995-96 season, or create your own players and save them to battery. Customize your athlete's head, uniform, attributes, or name, and then build his ratings by winning games or correctly answering trivia questions. Sixteen different heads allow you to create offbeat characters such as aliens or clowns.<br><br>Moves include alley oops, spin moves, double dunks, and team "fire" (players get hot after making three shots in a row). Up to four players can compete simultaneously in venues ranging from a rooftop and jungle arena to a harbor and city court. Enter in codes to unlock hidden characters, power-ups, and other bonuses. The game will also keep track of statistics such as points-per-game average, longest winning streak, most games played, and overall winning percentage.

    This was the real NBA

    I am very impressed. with the game play graphics in this NBA version for the genesis looks brilliant and vibrant colors . easy to play . and everything moves very fast. I like it. I am happy with the purchase. the basketball players roster . in my opinion that was when the NBA was the real NBA.. is a classic.

    Classic arcade basketball in Genesis form

    I didn't know this game existed at all before 2004 and didn't know there was a Genesis version before this year! The first time I played this was the N64 version and later on, the arcade machine and my first thought was "Hey! This is NBA Jam!" Yeah that pretty much sums this up completely. 2 on 2 basketball with extreme rule and crazy characters (you create your own so how about a guy with a basketball for a head?) and dunks. Lots of dunks! After playing those two versions, however, the Genesis version certainly shows its limitations. The graphics look a little blurry and muddy- kind of like an early Super Nintendo game. The sound, while typical Genesis quality, is missing a lot that is present in the arcade and 64 versions. But when it comes to gameplay, this sticks with that good old ...
