Another Mannheim Steamroller Christmas!
It's not Christmas time until I hear a Christmas carol or song done by Mannheim Steamroller. In the past 30 some odd years, they have recorded many other CD's, but M.S. are known best for their unique take on Christmas music. As it is mostly instrumental, Mannheim Steamroller's Christmas CD's appeal to all ages, and are wonderful for background music during holiday activities, or preparing for them. My 75 year old mom was captivated when she first heard their music, and my young nephews were equally entranced. They are the musical equivalent of a comfy chair when in the car, and calming to listen to at the time of year when most of are feeling our most frazzled. This CD in particular has songs not recorded on other Mannheim Steamroller CD's, so it is a nice addition if you already have ... It's not Christmas time until I hear a Christmas carol or song done by Mannheim Steamroller. Mannheim Steamroller - Christmas Extraordinaire
I've had MS's first Christmas CD since college and have been collecting others here and there over the years. This one is one of the better ones and the closest in sound to the first CD, which is my favorite. This is a truely talented group with something for everyone. Their arrangements are brilliant and different yet maintain the integrity of the classic-ness of the pieces. They don't bastardize the songs, like so many copy cat artists do. I only learned about Mannheim Steamroller this year when they accompanied the Skaters on Ice Holiday Program on our PBS Channel. I am totally a lifetime fan of theirs now, hope to have ALL of their Christmas Albums by next year. This is my first!! They are just so totally awesome, and that doesn't even begin to cover how wonderful they are. Listen to them yourself and you will see!! Thank you so much, Mannheim Steamroller, for making such BEAUTIFUL MUSIC!!I only learned about Mannheim Steamroller this year when they accompanied the Skaters on Ice Holiday Program on our PBS Channel. Christmas Extraordinaire
Truly differnt take on old favorite Christmas music. Bold, fresh, modern and extremely interesting to listen to. If you want music that you can "feel" then this is worth your money! I look forward to pulling this out every year to get in the spirit of the season! This is more of a musical "experience" than just normal run of the mill Christmas listening.
