The First, and Maybe?, the Best
This was the Divinlys first record released in the United States; and was maybe their best. Its raw energy and high powered vocals makes this album a must have, for any fan of the Divinlys, or any female who wishes to be a vocalist for a band. No holds barred and take no prisoners sound make each song feel like their speaking to you, or someone you know. Their Self titled album, diVINYLS, released in 1991 and Temperamental, released in 1988,have shown how much the band had grown and matured. The original band, though, gives the Divinlys a much different feel and, sometimes, sound and energy. You can hear the difference from this album and, "What A Life", compared to their later works. Christina Amphlett & Mark McEntee are the only two members on all their albums, and have been the main ... This was the Divinlys first record released in the United States; and was maybe their best. Amphlett is like a wild cat, which has just been unleashed in pit full of rats, and she can pick all she wants. McEntee shows us a glimpse of what was to come, from his guitar and musical arrangements.Bjarne Ohlin, Richard Harvey, and Rick Grossman round out the band, and give Amphlett plenty of back up energy. So if you want to get a true feel of the band, and need a fix, grab this album, Desperate, it is truly and eye opener

Divinyls great music
If you like one Divinyls song you will like this cd, to be honest all their cd's. Each song is diffrent yet has the same dynamics and melodies as the other songs that you enjoy. I have yet to hear a Divinyls' song that I haven't liked or wanted to skip while listening to any of their cd's. Each cd is well worth the money for you will listen to each song over and over again.
