    Throw Down Your Arms And Throw This In The CD Player!

    It is always a treat to hear a Sinead O'Connor record, and especially after she announced her retirement from the recording industry several years ago. However the opportunity to work with legendary Jamaican producers Sly & Robbie proved too great a one to miss out on. In her reinterpretation of timeless reggae standards, Sinead brings typical strength of conviction and emotion by the boat load, to the solid arrangements of the master musicians backing her. She sings "Ain't got no food to eat, ain't got no money to spend" in the song, Marcus Garvey, with enough persuasion to bowl over the strongest of sceptics. Highlights include two Lee Perry tracks - Curly Locks and Vampire, as well as a jaw-dropping rework of War, which seems particularly pertinent in these deeply troubled times of ...
