I have yet to play the first in this series, so I'm clueless about the continuation here (other than what I've read). GRAPHICS: Personally I think they're fairly decent for a wii game (there could be better, but it's nothing to complain about in my opinion). My biggest complaint is that it is often SO DARK in the game that I can't even see what I'm (trying) to hit. It's really annoying. GAMEPLAY: The fighting style is sort of typical for a mostly melee-based game. While you have several guns, the ammo is extremely limited, so you're basically left with melee weapons like a golf club or bat. I personally enjoy using the wii remote to wack monsters at all sorts of different angles, but the melee weapons do little damage and you die pretty quickly if you aren't careful. Also, dying is another big annoyance I have with this game. First aid kits are few and far between, especially considering you have TWO people you have to look out for. It wouldn't be SO bad, if the save points weren't so few and far between as well. After dying and having to repeat a very lengthy part of the game several times, I became a bit fed up. I don't have a problem with melee style - I rather like it because it can be more realistic and brutal - but with the awkward controls and weapons in this game, it makes it a bit less appealing. CHARACTERS: I don't have many complaints about the characters, and I enjoy the fact that they each have their own unique skills that you must utilise throughout the game. It's also pretty neat to be able to switch between them if you so choose. I haven't played the game with a partner yet, so I don't know how well it works. The voice acting is pretty good, considering. The side dialogue gives you a sense of each character's personality and the voices are suited to the characters well in my opinion. MONSTERS: There are really only three types of monsters, which can get boring after a while. While they aren't necessarily hard to defeat, they're pretty annoying when they show up - especially when you're out of bullets and have little health left. The flying UFO monsters are particularly annoying, because if you're out of bullets, well - you're pretty much SOL. SCENERY: While the setting seems big at first, you'll find many of the doors locked or inaccessible, which disappoints a person like me who loves exploring the area and finding things. As mentioned before, some of the areas (particularly the forest) can get VERY dark, and make it almost impossible to see. PLOT: I haven't completed the game yet (although I intend to), so I can't speak for the plot overall or the ending. I'm currently hoping the end won't be a disappointment, but I feel like the game would still have been fun to play anyway. In short, while the game has its drawbacks, I personally enjoy it so far. However if you're not patient enough to handle clumsy weapons and repeating several parts due to lack of save points, I wouldn't recommend it to you. It's not worth a hefty price, anyway.Read full review
Let's face it if you've stumbled upon this game it isn't because your wanting to play a classic game you will never forget. The best thing I can compare this game to is the reason you watch Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elm street movies, to be cheesily entertained. One thing I must warn is that the camera angles are awful especially when playing multiplayer. But if you can look beside that it is an entertaining game, even more with multiplayer. This is basically an average game with average graphics and bad camera angles but it amused me. Sometimes you just feel like picking up a game without an intense storyline and just get soem qucik action in. So if you don't mind a cheesy storyline and just looking to pick up a game to play with someone this game might be a good choice especially since you won't find it for more than 20 bucks. On the other hand if your looking for true horror game I'd suggest sticking to Silent Hill, Fatal Frame or Dead Space.Read full review
THE GOOD: New spin on the same old tired Resident Evil formula. Each character has a special ability (strenght, acrobatics, lockpicking, decyphering) which you will need to use to progress through the game. You'll be able to switch between 2 players through out the game and you'll be able to swap out partners as the mission dictates. THE BAD: The graphics are second generation, but that's to be expected from the Wii. If you've played a FPS on Wii before, then you know how ackward the controls are. There are lockpicking scenes in which you will need to move the Wiimote towards the TV. It took about 2 hours of trying before I figured it out. It's hard to aim and lock on a target. Movement is equally ackward. There is almost zero ammo in the game. The monsters are few and boring. Your primary weapon (due to lack of ammo) is gonna be either a hockey stick, golf club or baseball bat. Unable to set difficulty level (I'm about 3/4 of the way through, maybe after you win?) Can't change brightness level. The game is sooo damn dark you'll have to manually change the TV setting and then reset after you finish playing. OVERALL: I bought it on eBay for $8.50 with shipping, so yeah, it's worth it.Read full review
Honestly this game wasn't what I thought it was going to be. I thought it would have been a little more exciting at certain moments or at least make me jump a smidge. The trailer made it look so great. I was thinking maybe it might be something close to a resident evil style game, but I thought wrong. The game would be better if it didn't make me dizzy with all the spinning around that goes on. That factor alone makes me want to just resell it. Other than that i'd say its better played as a two player game. The story line is ok and the graphics and gore are decent for what it is. But then again I have only played it for a total of maybe 3 days, so this is purely based on what I have played up until this point.
At the beginning of the game this cheesy 90s theme starts playing I just love that cuz it takes me back the whole prologue thing is cheesy but gives homage to the first one who led saying it's not over u know lithe graphics are good if not great the story's ok a bit cheesey but by far I highly recommend it

Very cheesy. This game sounds cool on the description but when played, you'll get quite the different impression. The graphics are old, that's a given, but the clues are barely enough to continue the game. And there's a red arrow to help point out where you need to be.... What is that about? The problem is the arrow isn't always correct. So instead of advancing in the game, you'll find yourself searching an area for a clue when the clue isn't even there to be found! I was very disappointed and lost interest after only one chapter. Get it cheap....or don't get it.
The game is very dark and hard to see (which I think it's meant to be that way, but I personally didn't like it). It's the typical game where you run around figuring out what to do and where to go. I got stuck in an area and couldn't get out. I think it was a glitch in the game. I'd wait awhile before buying these types of games for the Wii. For now, stick with Wii Sports and Mario games.
The game's characters and setting are fresh for the genre, despite a basic premise that has been fairly played out recently. The character-switching puzzle solving will give you some new twists in the realm of puzzle solving/adventure gaming, while the two player drop-in drop-out adds a style of team-work and sociability to the arena of survival/horror gaming. A little on the short side (a dedicated pair could play through the game in a weekend without a struggle) but an excellent title none-the-less!
Motion sickness? Make it sound like strobe lights and thing moving around fast. Would just like playing prince persia for Wii. Anyhow, I know Wii is not a PS3, but best graphics so far that I have seen. Real nice spookey sounds from the dolby systems. Interesting game, like playing shirlock holmes. You need to figure things out, find things, etc.
