The 5.5 x 2.1mm male is to plug in the router for example. It is better to have a output cable of 5.5mm x 2.5mm Male Plug to 5.5 x 2.5mm. The 5.5 x 2.5mm. is universal and can plus into a 5.5 x 2.1mm female too. I must bough a 5.5mm x 2.5mm Male Plug to 5.5 x 2.5mm male plug. The original cable won't enter in the DC Input of my router. But it works perfect with the cable i bough.
