A true journey into the Victorian Age
Anne Perry is probably the greatest Victorian mystery writer. The complexity of her stories are on a par with the Sherlock Holmes mysteries. If you want to understand why women are still struggling for equal rights in America, read her novels and you will understand where the current prejudices came from. Victorian England. Her insight into the Victorian period is so accurate, that if you stop and research her facts and descriptions, that have been obscure and antiquated for almost a hundred years, you will stop and wonder if she actually lived during that time. Or,, she actually discovered H.G. Wells' time machine and traveled back. One hundred years from now, her novels will be used by cold case detectives to help solve crimes, when there are no forensics, and the trail has gone ... Another Ann Perry winners. Her fiction is always what you expect. Great characters. Outstanding written novel of the early last century. She covers all the details necessary to enjoy her books. I look for her books whenever I'm in a bookstore.
