    "Super" Korg MS2000R !!!

    This is the greatest physical modelling (virtual analog) synth module in the world !! I have the keyboard version of it (MS2000) also and they work together along with the Korg MicroKorg also. They all share the same synth engines and go back as far as the Korg DW8000 and use the DWGS (same snippets) along with there physical modeling/virtual analgesics. The MS2000 only has 4 note polyphony but does not present a problem for me but instead, makes me a much more disciplined player. This unit even has buttons that can trigger whole chords without the use of a keyboard controller, a real plus when you are just messing around with the ARP and SEQ MOD !! All I can say is that it is a very powerful little module, and beats anything new out there these days, take my word for it !!

    Great versatile little synth!

    It,s compact size can fool folks into thinking this little beast is seriously limited but just a quick run-through of its pre-sets will dispell such thoughts. Another wonderful advent of modern technology, meaning that back in the 80s a keyboard like this would have been three times the price and at least twice the size, this mini-keyed (remember those old "Sears" and "Radio Shack" toy synthesizers?) synthesizer is a great amalgam of digital and analogue. The sounds are crisp and all modifiable, as well as each patch can be saved (over-writing the presets mind you). The MicroKorg also comes with an arpegiator as well as a vocoder, has USB as well as MIDI plugs (MIDI IN, OUT, and THRU). It's a great keyboard for beginners and seasoned players, and my only qualm so far is what I find to be ...

    Great little unit.

    Great little unit.I bought it primarily for recording. The strings are gorgeous and lush and thats mainly what I was after. Its really a small unit, which is a big plus for me due to space in the studio, or rather the lack of.I don't know how many sounds you can get out of it. Lots. I was really only after a few good ones and the unit delivers. Big sound out of a tiny unit.I give it four stars only because of the master volume knob. Its really very "cheapish" and requires delicate handling. I'd be afraid to take it out gigging due to this feature. I set it at max and use my monitering system to control the volume. Other then that one nit, I'm very happy with the unit. For such a small unit, it puts out a huge,full sound.

    my friend the microkorg

    this is my first synth. if you dont count that little casio with that built-in sampler back in the early 90s. i describe the microkorg as super fun...which is a bit vague. i like to build sounds with it. i also do enjoy using some random preset and 'jamming out' for a bit (there are a few presets i find myself using over and over....the other ones will be overwritten as i make my own programs). the vocodor is excellent for working out vocals (if youre not very confident in your singing abilities). you can also apply the vocodor to any input..such as a tape recording or whatnot. there really are alot of possibilities with this synth, especially with the inputs and arpeggiator. and it really synchs nicely with my electribe (i can use the microkorg to control the synth parts on the drum ...
