I have had two GPS systems. Both were very easy to set up. The Nextar Q4 is a simple system and for me, simple is best. I like the maping and the fact that I can easily reverse my directions by just entering my home location into the unit. I don't have to do anything else from my end location. The volume may be the next best thing about it. The old unit I had I needed to turn down the radio or turn it completely off when nearing a street turn. If I connected to the speaker system in the car to hear better then I had no radio at all. The Nextar Q4 has a volume control with sound loud enough to hear directions and not have to lower the radio. Best buy for the money. I've bought two of them and would buy a third if needed. mstad55 www.theothersideofinsanity.com
I purchased this unit right here on Ebay for a family trip I had taken along the northeast coast from Jersey to Maryland. For the 4 days of driving I did with it, it pretty much did what it was intended to do. It gave me good solid directions, the voice prompts and turn by turn voice assistance was solid and I never lost a signal during my trip. If you want something that will tell you in which lane you need to get off on, or more traffic info such as the current status of the route your driving on, this one will not fill your needs. it does not have as many poi's as some of the more expensive ones like Garmin, Tomtom, or Magellan, but enough to get you to that next fuel stop or the nearest Micky D's on your travels. It's simply a basic unit with a really simple screen that by tapping it twice, you're ready to drive. Decent screen size at 4.3 inches and it holds a pretty good charge, almost 3 hours on mine. For well under $100 bucks you can't go wrong with this gps from Nextar. It is simple to use, easy to navigate around the menus and the included holder does a real good job of holding this unit and staying in place after a few good bumps on the road. Practical, easy to use, and a real good value in a solid gps unit. Truth is, I did'nt get lost once, and let's face it, that's what its all about. Getting you from point A to point B is all that matters, and this one does it pretty well.Read full review
I couldn't say no to the discounted price and since I had recently bought a discounted Tom-Tom and the Nextar product description seemed to be the same, I bought it for my wife's car. Garmin and Tom-Tom are very user friendly. Whatever you want to do is quickly available on screen. I can easily program my Tom-Tom while driving; On the other hand, The Nextar is about 50% mystery. Just trying to adjust resolution or volume or entering a starting point requires searching through an instruction book. This GPS will be in my next garage sale. I gave it an average because it was cheap and I didn't lose much.
I got this GPS about a month ago because I went to a function once, I had no ideal how to get there, I was out of town, so I was afraid of getting lost and didn't make it. Sorry to say it was a disappointed trip. Everyone that made it who hadn't been their before had a GPS. They asked me why I didn't have one? So I decided to buy this one. The Nextar Q4 Automotive GPS Receiver #1 because it was a steal, like 70% off! WOW! #2 because I never want to be in the above situation again, #3 I use Turbo Tax to do my own taxes and they say it guides you like a GPS, and I thought, well; if it's this easy to use A GPS like Turbo Tax, I'm getting one. So...I got this GPS and I love it, would recommend it to everyone who doesn't have one. It's a breeze to use it, and it talks to you and warns of over the speed limit driving, it's precise, trustworthy and economical too; I don't have to drive all around looking for my destination. I think it's a great item that every driver should have in their automobile. Can't compare it to others, but I can tell you about this one. It has lots of other features like; where to find area hotels and other accommodation's, restaurants, rest areas etc.., it even has games to play, easy Internet hook-up with your computer for down loading apps. Over all the Nextar Q4 Automotive GPS Receiver is a great buy.Read full review
very easy to program destination, with only typing in a few letters of address, it auto fills in. great display, very clear voice output when giving directions and repeats as next turn gets closer great buy for the small amount I paid for it. only 1 problem I had with it so far was the small glass type fuse in the car power supply has blown once, but was easy to replace. also wish it had come with a a/c charging cord. other than that, I am very satisfied.
