Awesome Rain Gauge !!
I am very happy with my Taylor 2706 Rain Gauge. I've owned the Taylor 2708 Rain Gauge and this one is replacing that one after more than five years of service. Holds up to a long time of UV Rays before the top becomes brittle as all plastics will do. This one is the larger of the two, but they are both excellent for reading the rain total from my porch 50 feet away. Quality Control Issue
It is a nice tall gauge. Quality of materials is consistent with previous purchases. BUT the 2 I received are different than what is shown. My numbers are written to the side of the lines, not centered as shown, and they seem much smaller than the one shown in the ad. Then, to make matters worse, the mounting slot at the bottom is not lined up with the numbers or the lines so once you mount it the lines and the numbers to point a different direction so you can't read the darn thing. When the number are in line with the lines and the bottom slot placed correctly the holder gives a black background so you can read from a distance, but the way it is, it is unreadable from any distance. Taylor Rain Gauge
This is a really nice looking rain gauge. Numbers are quite lg. for easy reading from about 20ft. away and the red float in the tube is a huge plus. Although I gave his five stars, I would want to take up the tube (which is removable) on long hot, sunny weeks due to it is constructed out of plastic which would not be durable enough to last. Overall, I love it.
