    Same as the original

    Same failings as the original ie black suction pad absorbs the suns heat cooks and melts. One day Garmin might learn that a light coloured suction pad would last longer and a translucent one even longer in the meantime this was the cheapest replacement I could find and I'll no doubt be back for more.

    Excellent quality, a bit undersized for the load

    High quality as should be expected by Garmin. The vacuum and the magnetic end hold much better than the old mount. Nevertheless, the vacuum cup should be attached carefully, both surfaces shall be clean, otherwise the mount is prone to falling. Same happens, if you attach it at low temperature and later the mount is heated up by the sun. Guess that this is normal for all vacuum cups though this one seems to me a bit undersized for the weight of the GPS.
