    Puts a sharp edge on knives quickly.

    This sharpener was recommended by a crew member on a fishing boat. Frankly, I had doubts about it until I used it on my filleting knives - Dexter and Bubba Blade. They went through trout and snapper ribs like butter and sliced the meat off the skin just as effortlessly. Worked very well on my kitchen knives too! I had always sharpened with diamond sharpener but will use this from now on. The blades last a long time but when they do get a little dull, it's easy to separate the handle and reverse the blades. It may take a few strokes to get past the angle on the edge from previous sharpenings but after that, it only takes a couple strokes with light pressure to maintain a sharp edge. I keep one in the kitchen, the garage, the workshop and the boat.

    Great Discovery

    By pure coincidence I was looking for a quicker way to sharpen some knives without having to use my stone. I happened to look at the cover of my Milk St. magazine and there was a great article on knife sharpeners. Of course this looks A LOT different than what I was expecting to see as one of their top picks. But, I really do respect all the testing Americas Test Kitchen does. So, I took a chance and ordered it. I do have a higher quality of knives, so I was a bit nervous. I read the easy directions and got to work. Please don't worry about having the knife blade up, I used a very inexpensive rubber/silicon place mat to use as a base, this was very convenient as a non skid base.     I should have bought more.

    We use pocket knives to cut net wrap from big bales of hay for our cattle. Net wrap really dulls knives fast. We have had one of these sharpeners for at least ten years but it was usually in wrong vehicle so I bought this one to carry in my coat pocket. The old one still works great but is starting to get worn. Should have bought one for every vehicle.
