Used and working, rather have a SLC, MLC or TLC

uses older memory types I believe to be more durable, from my research, unless an electronic part fails, it probably will not be the write limits.

  • So glad I went solid state! What a difference!

This drive is great! It has really increased the speed. Almost instant startup and great file access and program starting speeds. What they forgot to mention is that they also give you a free download for Acronis drive copying software. I have used this software before and this new free version is great! I have been enjoying my new drive for over a month and no issues!

  • Basic summary

For me this was a good purchase. It's important to have realistic expectations. The ssd drive is much faster but you have to understand that even a faster drive is limited by the hardware limitations imposed by the computer you plug it into. Your internet isn't going to seem faster. Your video card isn't going to dramatically provide faster frame-rates. What you will experience is faster boot-up and shutdown times and faster program execution. The drive operates silently and seems to run cooler. This was a basic summary of what I have found to be the case. This Adata SSD is the only SSD I own so I have no other ssd drive to compare it to. Also, not being a technician or otherwise skilled with computers I cannot be more specific or inclusive of more pertinent info. Hope this helps.

  • Good with small exception

I bought this to replace the HDD in my laptop. I was disappointed that it did not show when you inserted it to format before install. I am glad I did. The way it was formatted was not what I thought it was. After researching different ways to see if I could get it working, (I'm a novice) I discovered that it was not named and didn't show any volume when externally connected. I went into Device Management, seen that the volume was there but not partitioned and named. After I did that, it works great. Now after putting it in my laptop, it works great. I can see why people want SSDs. For speed.

  • What are you waiting for?

There's a reason everybody is going to SSD instead of mechanical drives. You just can't compare the speed. The SSD is blazing in comparison to the older technology. As the price of SSD drives has dropped significantly, it's become a no-brainer. Grab one and set it up. It's easier than you may think.
