About this product

Product Information

This Game Boy Advance cartridge contains enhanced ports of the first two games in Square's cornerstone series, originally available only in Japan for the Famicom (Nintendo Entertainment System) console. Final Fantasy I has players exploring a large, fantasy game world in a quest to rid it a an evil force, gaining information and new missions as they talk to the NPCs who live in each town, and building a diverse team of characters that can be customized with new skills and powers as they gain experience. Based on the original (Japanese) version of Final Fantasy II, the second game included on this cartridge tells the story of four orphans, who also band together to save their world against evil. Though characters don't level up as they do in the first game, their weapon skills and other abilities become more powerful the more they are used. Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls also features newly designed areas and quests in both games, and improved video and audio that takes advantage of the handheld's increased technical power over the original 8-bit console.

    FF 1+2 Dawn of Souls

I hadn't played FF 1 since originally came out on NES. Fun to relive the nostalgia. The GBA version has graphical and audio upgrades and the inclusion of 4 optional bonus dungeons. I haven't played FF2 yet, and also excited as this will be my first time playing. I bought a CIB copy for close to $30. As a collector, I want at least the manuals for games, the box and inserts were in great condition, and will look great on display. Hopefully, this product will raise in value over time, as the gameplay is still a lot of fun.

  • The two games that started the Final Fantasy Dynasty!

Reviewed for Big Boss Games by: T.R.C. Final Fantasy I: You start out by selecting your four heroes. You can select from six different classes. The heroes will change after you complete a side quest that is about a third of the way through the game. This group is the most balanced between strength and magic. You will have to buy your spells. So save your money! • Classic RPG action! A must have.

any RPG fan, dare i say, every gamer owes it to themselves to experience the origins of one of the most revered series in the history of gaming. there have been a number of releases of the first two Final Fantasy games over the years, but the GBA offering Dawn of Souls is easily the best. these games helped shape the RPG as we know it today. and being able to experience both classics on one cartridge is a definite plus. Final Fantasy delivers a classic, no frills RPG experience with plenty of fun and challenging battles, a memorable soundtrack, and plenty of areas to explore. Final Fantasy II is a level grinder's dream, offering an interesting level-system that will raise your stats based on your actions in battle. this, coupled with memorable characters and a gripping story make it one ...

  • Woo!

Given the limited functionality of the sound chip in the GBA era, FFDoS did an amazing job of keeping its sound track sound incredible for each and every intense and amazing moment of the game play experience. Definitely worth getting if you don't have it already.

  • Still some great games.

I loved playing final fantasy one on the original nintendo and its still fun. Everything from the original is still here only now its graphics have been updated to look like a super nintendo game. Now if you have Final fantasy origins for the playstation one then there really isn't too much more here to mess with. Just some extras like fighting against bosses from other final fantasy games. Also the playstation version have fmv movies that this one doesn't and you could choose a level of dificulty. It looks like this version is only the easier setting. Being able to play it anywhere is a gigantic plus though. I never played final fantasy two before so I can't compare. Its big difference to the first one is that you have three set characters and you level up differently then in ...
