Excellent and a great price
I am reviewing a ThermoPro digital meat thermometer. It's the kind with the flip out probe and a hole you can hang it up with if desired. I paid less than $11 for this and it's a very good value. I just got around to using it for some grilled chicken breasts the other night. I had three smaller ones and one larger one. And it was nice to know the larger one did indeed need more time than I had thought to be fully cooked. In fact, I thought the smaller ones were done until I measured them. That peace of mind alone sold me on this thermometer and I will use it often. So, this thermometer is of pretty decent quality and I like several things about it. First, the flip out probe is long enough. Clicking it back in place allows compact storage. The LED readout is easy enough ... I am reviewing a ThermoPro digital meat thermometer. There is a selector button on the back for either F or C degree readings. I didn't have to use that because it happened to read in F degrees when I tried it. And which does not get in your way or for me get reset inadvertently. If you want F readouts constantly as I do, it's not like you have to reset it all the time. You don't. I can only hope this thermometer will be a durable item. All electronic products are sort of a digital crap-shoot -especially at this price range. So we'll see about durabilty. Oh, one last thing I liked about this one and a factor in my purchase. It takes a standard battery and not a disk-type battery. AAA I think. Much less expensive to purchase than the little disk batteries. It looks like it will be very easy to change out the battery when it becomes necessary. I like this thermometer and am very glad I got it. I would certainly recommend this one vs. ones that are much more expensive. This one has all the features you need and is a good price.

For this price, I didn't expect much, and it works,however it's 3 -4 degrees off right out of the box (unless water boils at sea level at 207-degrees). Feels cheap but, i's $15.00 total...the magnets are useful. So, it works, and it's possible most other thermos at this price aren't spot either. The real test is how long continues to only be 3-4 degrees cooler. The last one (different model) lasted for about a year before it fell to about 20 degrees off. FWIW, you check food thermometers in boiling water, not hot tap water; tap water temps can fluctuate, and you may not know what the temp of hot water actually is. Hopefully this unit is precise, i.e. it measures the same way every time, and I just remember that 141 degrees is actually 145.For this price, I didn't expect much, and it works,however it's 3 -4 degrees off right out of the box (unless water boils at sea level at 207-degrees). Great Temp Taker
I have a more expensive temp probe that has a lot of additional features that I seldom use. This is about the size of a small pocket knife, Fits in the silverware drawer for easy access. It works very well and should last for years.

No complaints thus far. This is a simple, no nonsense device. No fancy features - but provides what I was looking for: an easy to use device that renders the temperature. It is not made of real rugged material but is sturdy enough and a decent value.

One that actually works.
I have used a few items like this with less than satisfactory results. I cooked a venison roast and used this to get it done medium rare. When the temperature registered what wanted I stopped roasting, rested the food, and it came out exactly as I wanted based on the temperature I used. I can say that it works as advertised, is really easy to use, but You do have to wait a couple seconds to get the correct temperature. I am pleased with this, but have only used it once and will see if it lasts. I believe that , unlike many, many others I have used, I can trust this to cook a meal to the temperature and texture I like. I also use a 'stay in the roast' meat thermometer, but I need one like this for thick steaks and pork chops.I have used a few items like this with less than satisfactory results.
