Reasonably priced alternative to Creon extortion, with one caveat
Works as well as Creon for me. The caveat is that stomach acid needs to be neutralized, because otherwise the lipase is irreversibly inactivated by the acid. This is why Creon is enteric. I took the advice found in this article on PubMed: "Rational Use of Pancreatic Enzymes for Pancreatic Insufficiency and Pancreatic Pains" which is to take triple dose omeprazole plud sodium bicarbonate in order to maintain a non-acidic stomach environment. Doing this enables one to take non-enteric pancreatic enzyme supplements. Of those, the Vital product seems to be the best. A possible alternative to this approach (which I have not tried, however) is to use vegetarian enzymes that are not pH sensitive. One last point worth mentioning: Besides secreting digestive enzymes, the pancreas secretes ... Works as well as Creon for me. For an individual suspecting inadequate bicarbonate secretion, one possible test would be to take enteric sodium bicarbonate capsules along with Creon, and see if that improves digestion.

Great Alternative to Creon
Those of us who has EPI pancreatic insufficiency take Creon. Very expensive and can't afford it. This a great alternative, actually for me, got better results with Vital product

Best pancreatic enzyme available without a prescription!
The ingredients compare very close to those in the Creon prescription that costs well over $300 a month. So glad I discovered this option to aid my digestion following Whipple surgery.

Malabsorbtion pancreatitis
My husband suffers from malabsorbtion and pancreatitis we don't currently have health insurance because we can't afford it. These enzymes help so much as they have a high amount of lipase, protease, and Amylase that he needs to digest food and absorb his vitamins. He has put on 15 pounds since using these. Thank you so much for supplying us these enzymes over the counter at a decent price. He is prescribed creon but its almost 800$ a script a month. When your both working and you don't even. Barely make that a month for one of us its difficult for him to stay alive and well and to work whenhe's so sick all the time. Best over the counter formula of pancreatic enzymes that I've found.
Prescription strength doses of the three pancreatic enzymes. Most importantly, the amount of lipase is very generous. Much cheaper than Rx versions. The only thing that would make it even better would be to make them enteric-coated.
