    Bonanza meets the Godfather

    This series does for modern westerns what Game of Thrones did for the Fantasy genre. Amazing production, gorgeous scenery, and storylines that are absolutely binge-worthy. This show is the only reason I'm continuing with my cable service right now, so I can get the current episodes. I bought the DVD for season 1 so I can share with my extended family and get them as hooked as I am, lol. The entire cast is amazing. Costner was born to wear a Stetson. The scripts and the acting are all of the same grandure as the beautiful locations where the show is filmed. Character development is top notch.

    Cruel, sad, dysfunctional

    To much cruelty and violence, needs more of a good quality story. I love Kevin Costner and would buy anything he was in, but you see very little of him. This is a typical dysfunctional family with more mean spirited people. Who needs that? The idea of a ranch family is much needed and appreciated, but for heavens sake, get a decent story, get rid of the family slut, treat poor Jimmy with a little more kindness. Definitely needs Kevin as a hero, not a broken mean sick man. Will I buy season two? Probably.
