  • Not Really For Dummies

A very nice collection of basic information. Will it alone teach you to play guitar? Probably not, but it will serve as a nice source of basic information. If you know nothing about Guitar and really want to learn to Play you should seek out a qualified Teacher who can point out flaws in your technique right on the spot. Furthermore a teacher can actually tell you what's going wrong and create exercises etc. on the fly to drill the problem. Not to mention re-phrase what they are expressing to you from a different direction if you appear lost or confused. So in short, "A DVD IS NOT HOW YOU LEARN TO PLAY GUITAR If You Are a Complete Beginner". It can make a nice tool along with private one on one study or be of use to one who has a basic grasp on right from wrong. A Lot of Books/DVDs on ...

  • Reasons to purchase a DVD to learn guitar.

When one runs into problems with learning guitar, purchasing a DVD may be a really useful aid. The guitarist-in-training will be better able to overcome the fears and stresses associated with learning a new instrument. Learning how to play guitar through watching a DVD is as interactive and intimate as a private lesson without the cost. The person learning the instrument will also be able to work at his or her own pace; he or she can work as slow or as fast as necessary just by pushing play, pause, rewind or fast-forward. To conclude, there are many ways one can learn how to play guitar. While there are numerous obstacles one may encounter, it’s important to stick with it! Purchasing a DVD may prove to be quite helpful. Like anything else, it is worth doing a little comparison shopping ...

  • Guitar for Dummies?

Wanted to learn to play the guitar without taking lessons. It is not the one to buy if you don't know a little about music. it needs to define the terms used. If you are a first time guitar user and no nothing about music, you will have no idea what they are refering to when they talk about chords, scales, frets, etc. They need one called guitars for the dummest! The DVD was okay, you finally catch on but the book that came with it was useless. They need on that is more detail oriented and first thing in it should be the definitions of the frets.

  • minimal information

it did not have enough information to actually do any more than getting started. I did not realize the portion about acoustic guitars was so minimal or I would not have ordered it.

  • Not what I was expecting

I thought it was a book and not a DVD. It didn't state that
