Unfortunately, seller didn't have this item when they went to ship. They quickly notified me, apologized, and refunded my money. I was bummed, but happy with the communication.

  • Gitty reality of WWII

This book is the 4th book of 4 autobiographical accounts of an airborn paratrooper who went in on D-day 1944 and went through Normandy, Holland, Bastogne, and into Germany. Beyond the Rhine is Burgett's account of the final month of WWII through his eyes. This an extremly good and readable account of liberating work camps and one concentration camp where medical experiments were being performed. The end of the war finds the 101st at Hitler's Eagles Nest. This book is out of print and the only copy I could find was on E-bay. Made my day as I had read the other 3 books in the series. They are still available at many book stores.

  • perfect

Don was in A company of the 506 parachute infantry regiment of the 101st airborne division in WWII. All 4 of his WWII books are some of the best books I ever read. If you want to read personnel accounts of a WWII veteran, these are some of the best you'll ever read.

  • Great read.

A very good read about his experiences in the latter part of the war in Europe. Only one small thing he says that I do not agree with is jumping from "twin boomed troop carriers" which could only be the C-119 Flying Boxcar. That a/c wasn't around until 1947.
