    4L80/85E Book

    This book is about par with most other books like from Peterson, HP and SA publishing. They contain good info albeit it would be nice for a bit more tech info and a little more detailed. Of course these are not full technical manuals and are more for home garage guys. I have read ATRA manuals that do not contain details such as aftermarket mods which are published in manuals like these. And these give reference to various suppliers for aftermarket parts one would not find in a shop service manual. My next step is to go ahead and acquire an ATRA manual to complete this planned build

    If you hoping to demystify GM transmissions this book is for you

    If I were rebuilding a 4L80E this book is a must reference. Not only does the book guide you through the process with pictures and text, the historic information is amazing. The evolution of GM transmissions is layed out chronologically , so understanding what you have to repair is straightforward. Nice job!
