My MacBook Air 11” 2013 I bought didn’t have a drive. I couldn’t install Mac OS on a internal NVME with adapters I bought. Once I installed this OEM 128gb drive I could then installed the Mac OS and upgraded to Catalina and even installed Big Sur on this 128gb drive. Once I did that I was able to remove this 128gb drive and was able then to install a larger 512gb NVMe ssd with and adapter. I then partitioned the drive in half and installed Majove to run some older 32bit programs.

Best way to do it so the computer can see the drive by doing the firmware update. Nice Job!
