This is, by a long shot, the all-around best knife on the market, and has been my favorite for the last 25 years... and you can't beat the price. Obviously this is only one person's opinion, but I've used countless makes and models over the last 40 years, and this exact model is my personal favorite. My first one (with the leather wrapped handle) I loved so much that I've been buying them as gifts for friends and family ever since. By "all-around" I mean durability, utility, bushcraft, defense, hunting, throwing, and, again, price. The handle on this model is made with a corrosion free, non-slip (even when wet) material as well (the material will withstand all elements... was designed to repel sand abrasion for military use in the middle east). The US marine KA-BAR knife has, since 1942, been the standard against which all military and civilian multipurpose fixed blade knives have been judged. Most of these knives were found lacking the utility, durability and reliability that has made the KA-BAR famous. This all black variant with a synthetic grip is a slight improvement on the leather washer gripped KA-BAR of yore, as the synthetic grip is not prone to the fungal damage that some of the original leather gripped knives suffered in humid tropical locations over the years. Solid Knife
What can you say about it’s proven track record. The handle is comfortable and the sheath is damn near bullet proof. My only issues with this knife is the fact that it’s not full tang and it doesn’t have a built in sharpener like the LMF ll. But....it’s a bleeping Ka-Bar...nuff said. Get one. It’ll last generations.
