    Great Development Modem

    For a typical user, this isn't the modem you want. On the other hand, if you are some sort of developer, this could be of some use to you. Personally, I use it to troubleshoot on my families own ISP. With the features available, it is much better than the ones supplied by our modem manufactures. Overall it should only be bought by people who are in the COAX & ISP development community.

    Wrong MACID

    The modem works, but arrived with the wrong MAC address (the sticker on the base doesn't correspond to the modem). I had to ping the modem via a wireless router to find the correct MAC address in the modem's GUI, and then give this to the cable company, which delayed getting online by about a week. Which was a bit of a pain. If someone didn't know how to do this they would basically be buying a brick.

    DOCSIS3.0 explained.

    DOCSIS3.0 cable modems are one of the newer revisions of cable modems. It's important when switching to faster speeds. The method a CABLE modem is 'programmed' is it's DOCSIS. It's not the same as a DSL or UVerse connection. This modem works with the latest TWC connection (as of 11-2015). Mind you it is a modem only. You must invest in a WiFi Router such as a DLink cloud router (a good one is dir826L). Thanks for your time.
