    Great not excellent

    Really good unit, You should get some extra batteries just in case (size 393 or 309). Use this during dusk or dawn for best distance and results. After comparing this to the 12guage version from the same company (much larger batteries) the range of this is about half as good. With this one I can get a solid 25 yards, and depending on sunlight, can go as far as 40-60 yards but the dot gets faint. Yeah, there are some complaints that there is no on off button, but I really dont care. All i did was grab a piece of paper to separate battery from contact, so i can screw it down all the way and know it wont turn on when not needed. Cannot beat the quality for the price.

    Don't waste your money

    The included batteries dies within five minutes of operation and was unable to use without having to pay a lot for new batteries at the local Walgreens. Even after getting new batteries the usefulness of this device to get on paper is limited. You still have to go to the range, so in my opinion I would have been better off using a couple extra bullets, compared to the cost of this device and the batteries I had to purchase. Fail.

    Can't Miss

    The Sightmark SM39001 .223/5.56 got me on target, with both my iron sight and Aimpoint red dots, with just a few rounds, at 25 yards. As others have probably mentioned, work with this laser bore sight in the evening for better visibility and improved results. This chambered and extracted easily in all of my rifles. The only disadvantage is that the batteries must be installed to turn it on and removed to turn it off. A recessed power switch, perhaps where the primer is on a real bullet, would greatly improve the overall functionality and ease of use for this already good boresighter. Having a caliber specific laser boresight is definitely a plus!

    Great Product - I Would Buy This Again

    I read many reviews on this laser and many of them were negative. For a long while I wouldn't buy the Sightmark Laser Bore Sight because of these reviews. I am so very glad I took a chance and purchased this unit. It works wonderfully. After getting the scope and adjustment tools ready, taking care not to turn on the laser until the last minute, I sighted the rifle in under two minutes. Sweet ! I highly recommend this product.

    Ease of use

    This product was a great value for the money and was easy to use. I was able to tweek the site and get a more accurate aim. The batteries had a little corrosion and didn't even last an hour but were easy to find and replace. Overall, I am satisfied with this product.
