Being a die-hard Smurf veteran, since I liked the Smurfs when it was running on NBC during the 1980s. Now that it's the 50th anniversary of The Smurfs, I've gone back in, not to the cartoon, but into the video games. So I bought this game, because I was collecting games right now, since I am a Smurf veteran and a die-hard gamer. It's not the best game (I like the Game Boy version better), but it still doesn't suck. I like the cut-scenes where it closely resembles the cartoons. The game play takes some getting used to, simply because it's sort of a 2-1/2d platformer, with 2D side scrolling controls using the D-pad to control your character. The graphics are stunning on the cut scenes, because it closely resembles the cartoon. I say the graphics are pretty good, as the character has good animation when you move him. Sure it has no cel-shaded graphics (Cel-shaded graphics were non-existent back in the late 90s), but they sure do try to make the graphics best as possible to resemble the cartoon. If you like to collect Smurf games, than give this one a try. It's not like E.T. for the 2600, or Action 52 for the NES, but it's no Super Mario 64 or Zelda. I hope that Warner Interactive can make more Smurf games in the future, and lets hope that these games turn out good. I don't want to be turned over, especially I value these Smurf days when I was a kid.Read full review
well theres not a lot to say about it but so cute, if your familiar with the smurfs and think they are so very cute you should add this old game to your collection , thats why i brought it of course since its a ps1 came the graphics are not amazing or anything , thats to be expected , but still its very cute little blue people in there tiny little village pick it up and add it to your pile of collectable games ( which its highly right now ) and happy game playing to all :)
I bought this game because i am an all around lover of any and all smurfs, so i cant say anything bad about the game. I had been looking for this game for awhile, it does'nt come up to often on e-bay, so when i found it i had to get it. As for playing the game, the graphics are great and its great for all ages but more so for 7 to 11 years in age. but if you love smurfs, and who would'nt you've got to get this game.
This is a good PSX game if you like the classic cartoon "Smurfs." Even to today's standards it seems to have pretty good graphics and gameplay. I like playing the different adventure games within the game.
