They have a decent output, not too low, not overly loud neither. I love the growl these gave my jazz bass. Treble isn't harsh, while it has good mids and bass. Not muddy whatsoever. I don't like muddy or bright, I like something in between. These pickups are great. Great price too. I'm so happy with the pickups I will be purchasing another set from this seller.

Balanced tone, brighter than stock pickups, but not as bright as Fender Custom Shop ’60s Jazz Bass Pickups in my opinion. There is no manual or instructions and the pickups are not distinguished between neck and bridge (unless I missed something that distinguishes them), which was annoying when setting up and soldering. Nonetheless, these pickups have a balanced tone that cut through mix better than stock PU's. Great seller
