R.E.M. —"Collapse Into Now" Concord Records; 2011’s Collapse Into Now marks the fifteenth—and final—studio album from R.E.M.. Intentionally (but not publically) planned by the group to be their last work together, Collapse Into Now lyrically hints at R.E.M.’s disbanding, and was popularly considered to be a return to the “classic” R.E.M. sound. Recorded in four different cities: Berlin, New Orleans, Nashville and Portland Oregon, Collapse features guest appearances by Patti Smith and Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder. It has now been released on R.E.M.'s new label Concord.

      Amazing album from an amazing band. Highly recommend at least a listen!

      I've been a huge REM fan for over 20 years and have purchased every single US release that I know of. Collapse into Now is a well crafted, pop rock album that continues the energy and excitement that Accelerate, the previous release had. I really recommend this album a listen and I'm sure you will be hooked. I have to say that this album has some of the best music the band has released over the last decade. Some highlights include: "Uberlin", "Discoverer" (lead single), "Oh My Heart", "Blue", and the fantastic "Every Day is Yours to Win." In all I was very excited to listen to this release and it was worth the wait.

      Triumphant return to form!

      I have been a R.E.M. fans since my college days, so for over 20 years now I've followed Michael Stipe and the boys, and I must say that COLLAPSE INTO NOW is the band's finest release since 1994's MONSTER album! The 12 track Cd is solid throughout and has that classic R.E.M. sound. Standout tunes include the opener "Discoverer", the first iTunes single "Uberlin", plus quirky tracks "Mine Smell Like Honey", "Alligator_aviator_autpilot_antimatter" & "Me, Marlon Brando, Marlon Brando and I". It's the kind of catchy quirky attitude and sound that has been missing for so long from the band. With COLLAPSE INTO NOW, the band have tapped into their college days beginnings and pulled off a triumphant return to form. It's ...
