  • The National Anthem

It's no wonder that a lot of the fans didn't get this album. OK computer had gained Radiohead quite a following and fans had very high hopes for this. Most of them were left scratching their heads. As for me, I am among the few who were completely blown away. This is the one that proved to me that the band was made up of real artists. It takes guts and a real sense of artistry to allow a musical vision to take priority over accessibility. That's not to say that this album is not accessible because it really is but it's not what the average person would listen to on a day to day basis. Thankfully, I'm not the average person. 5 Stars.

  • Kid A

Let me first start off by saying that when I first heard this album, the first couple songs sort of freaked me out, and I didn't bother to listen to the rest of it. At this time I was a newbie to Radiohead music. Fast forward about 6 months and I start listening to more and more Radiohead and I decide to give Kid A another try. I realize what a great album it is. Mainstream music can sort of brainwash your mind into thinking only a certain type of music can be projected as listenable, but after a few listens to Kid A you begin to see that it is a brilliant piece of work. Although it takes a few listens to realize it, Kid A is a masterpiece.

  • Incredible worth each cent

Kid A turned out not be the music of the future, but a relic of the past, more in line with dinosaurs like Dark Side of the Moon or Loveless as try-out-your-new-speakers, listen-with-the-lights-off suites. By the time Amnesiac officially arrived, it had been served up piecemeal on the internet, handicapping the final product from reproducing its predecessor's cohesive structure. From then on, albums have persisted, sure, but they're increasingly marginalized or stripped for parts-- release Kid A today, and many might choose to save or stream "Idioteque" and Recycle-Bin the rest, missing the contextual build and release that makes the album's demented-disco centerpiece all the more effective. The argument doesn't quite hold

  • Good god, THIS is music

I feel that the only reason people can't accept this album is because they've been programmed repeatedly by simple radio songs into not being able to listen to anything else. You're not going to find too many 4/4 time signatures here. Not even many guitars. Lyrics are abstract. Sometimes Thom Yorke (lead singer) talks in a robotic voice instead of singing. But what comes out of it is an ethereal experience from start to finish. It's definitely a growing album in that you will LOVE it after half a year, in contrast to other albums where the charm wears off any you can see past everything they do.
